About FL Health Guide

A new Florida-licensed insurance agency based in Coral Springs. Run by one person who answers his own phone.

Hi, I'm Benjamin Turner.

I live in Coral Springs. The agency is registered at 545 Jefferson Dr #2-106, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. I'm the agent behind FL Health Guide. The agency is brand new. I just graduated college with a business degree, got my Florida insurance license (#G227271), and started Turner Risk & Wealth LLC in 2025.

So no, I don't have a decade of stories about "saving families thousands." I haven't been doing this for a decade. What I do have is the time and the motivation to actually help. I'm working with people one at a time. When you call (207) 227-2395, you reach me. When you fill out the form on this site, I'm the person who calls you back. Not a call center in Manila or Phoenix.

I picked health insurance because I'd been self-employed through college and saw firsthand how confusing the marketplace is when you don't have an HR department choosing your plan for you. Florida has more people on ACA marketplace plans than any state in the country, and a lot of them are getting funneled through national call-center brokerages that don't know Broward Health from Memorial Healthcare. That bothered me. So I built this.

If you want to compare 2026 plans, I'm happy to help. No pressure. Either we find you something better than what you've got, or we don't, and if we don't, at least now you know.

What you actually get

๐Ÿ“ž

One person, not a queue

You're not getting routed through a national call center. I'm a one-person agency. That has obvious limits if you need 24/7 IVR menus, but if you want someone who actually knows your situation when you call back, this is what that looks like.

๐Ÿฅ

Florida-only, ACA + private

I'm licensed in Florida and I write across the products most Floridians actually need: ACA marketplace plans, short-term medical (STM) for gap coverage, and hospital indemnity / supplemental policies. STM carriers: National General/Allstate, Pivot Health, UnitedHealthcare/Golden Rule. Indemnity: Allstate Health Solutions/National General. Not the right person for Medicare Advantage or multi-state group coverage.

๐Ÿ†“

Same price as enrolling yourself

Carriers pay broker commissions whether you enroll through me, through Healthcare.gov, or directly with the carrier. The plan price doesn't change. What going through an agent gives you is somebody to call when your situation changes mid-year, or when a claim gets denied, or when Open Enrollment rolls around again.

๐Ÿค

New agency, time to actually help

Big agencies are optimized for volume. New ones aren't yet. The practical effect is that I have time to walk through your plan options instead of pushing you to "the most popular Silver." If you're somebody who likes asking questions, that's a feature.

Important: I'm an insurance agent, not an insurance carrier. I help you compare and enroll in plans from carriers including Florida Blue, Ambetter, Molina, Oscar, and Cigna. I'm not affiliated with the federal government, Healthcare.gov, CMS, or any government program.

The reason this market matters

Florida has more people on ACA marketplace plans than any other state. Over 2.3 million Floridians signed up for 2026 coverage. That's not because Florida is great at health insurance. It's mostly because Florida didn't expand Medicaid, which means a lot of working-age adults who'd be on Medicaid in other states end up on subsidized ACA plans here instead.

The result is a marketplace that's huge, complicated, and full of agents trying to grab a piece of it. A lot of those agents are good. A lot are national call centers that don't actually know Florida hospital networks or county-level carrier availability. And a small but real percentage are running aggressive bait-and-switch tactics that CMS has been cracking down on since 2024.

My version is straightforward. I tell you what plans are available in your ZIP code, what your subsidy looks like based on your income and household size, and what the trade-offs are between the carriers competing locally. If a plan is wrong for you, I'll say so. If you're better off enrolling directly on Healthcare.gov yourself, I'll tell you that too. The commission is the same either way for me, so there's no reason to push you into the wrong plan.

Here's how it actually goes

I'm not a call center and I'm not a referral service. I'm the agent. Here's the actual flow when you fill out the form or call.

1
You send me the basics (about 2 minutes)
ZIP code, age, household size, approximate income. No Social Security number at this stage. No commitment. Or just call (207) 227-2395 and we do it together over the phone.
2
I call you back, usually within an hour
During business hours (Mon-Sat, roughly 9am-7pm ET), I call within about an hour. After hours, the next morning. I'll pull up every plan available in your specific ZIP code, apply your subsidy, and walk you through what each plan actually costs after credits. If your favorite doctor or hospital matters, we check whether each plan covers them.
3
You pick a plan, or you don't
If you find a plan you like, I handle enrollment the same day. If you need to think about it, fine. If you'd rather enroll yourself directly on Healthcare.gov, I'll tell you exactly how and what to look for. The commission to me is the same either way, so there's no incentive to push you.
4
Coverage starts the 1st of next month
Enrollment can happen same-day; coverage actually starts the 1st of the next month (that's how marketplace plans work). The carrier will send you confirmation. If a claim gets denied or you need to update your income or change plans mid-year, you can call me directly. That's the part most people miss when they enroll on their own.
