As a Broward County city, Miramar has the same four-carrier ACA market as Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale. Florida Blue covers Memorial Healthcare System. Ambetter and Molina are typically the lowest-premium options for subsidy-eligible families.
Miramar has a large Caribbean-American population — particularly Jamaican, Haitian, and Trinidadian communities. Many residents are self-employed, in healthcare, or work for employers that don't offer benefits. The ACA marketplace is designed for exactly this demographic.

Miramar (Broward County) has four ACA carriers: Florida Blue, Ambetter, Molina, and Oscar. Florida Blue has the broadest local network. Ambetter and Molina offer lower premiums for income-eligible residents.
Lawfully present immigrants — including green card holders, work visa holders (H-1B, L-1, etc.), and many other statuses — are eligible for ACA marketplace plans and premium tax credits. DACA recipients are eligible in some states but not currently in Florida's federal marketplace. A licensed agent can review your specific status.
Broward County unsubsidized premiums: $175–$630/month. With income-based subsidies, many Miramar families pay significantly less. A family of four earning $45,000/year typically pays under $50/month after tax credits.
South Florida's large Caribbean-American community is well-served by ACA carriers. Florida Blue, Ambetter, and Molina all have strong networks in Broward and Miami-Dade. Many providers in the area are experienced with diverse communities and offer multilingual care.
Open Enrollment: November 1 – January 15. Special Enrollment Periods for qualifying life events year-round.
