πŸ“… Same-day enrollment
I walk you through enrollment step by step. Enrollment is usually same-day; coverage starts the 1st of the next month (that's how marketplace plans work).

A one-person Florida agency, not a call center

I'm Benjamin Turner. I live in Coral Springs and I'm the only agent here. The agency is brand new (founded 2025) and I work with people one at a time. When you call (954) 998-6720, you reach me. More about the agency →

πŸ“ž
One person, not a queue
You won't get bounced through a national call center. If I miss your call, I call back. If you fill out the form, I'm the one who reaches out. That has limits (I'm one person), but if you want somebody who remembers your situation between calls, this is what that looks like.
πŸ₯
Florida only, by design
I'm licensed in Florida (#G227271). I work with Florida ACA plans. I won't pretend to know the marketplace in Texas or California, because I don't. For South Florida specifically, I live here and I know the Broward vs Miami-Dade carrier differences first-hand.
πŸ†“
Same plan price either way
Carriers pay broker commissions whether you enroll through an agent, through Healthcare.gov, or directly with the carrier. The plan price is the same. What going through an agent gives you is somebody to call when your situation changes or a claim gets denied.
🀝
New agency, real time to help
I'm not going to pretend I've been doing this for a decade. I haven't. The agency started in 2025. The practical effect is that I have time to walk through your plan options properly instead of pushing you toward "the most popular Silver." If you like asking questions, that's a feature.

ACA marketplace isn't always the right fit

If you're between jobs, missed Open Enrollment, self-employed without a marketplace subsidy, or you just need a short bridge before your next coverage starts, the ACA marketplace probably isn't the cheapest option for you. I also write the products built for those situations.

Short-term medical (STM)

30 to 364 days of coverage, often significantly cheaper than an unsubsidized ACA plan for healthy adults. Good fit for gap coverage, between jobs, missed enrollment windows, or pre-Medicare bridge.

Carriers I write: National General / Allstate, Pivot Health, UnitedHealthcare / Golden Rule.

Hospital indemnity & supplemental

Fixed cash-benefit policies that pay you directly when you're admitted to the hospital, injured in an accident, or diagnosed with a covered illness. Usually paired with major medical, not instead of it.

Carrier I write: Allstate Health Solutions / National General.

Important: Short-term medical is NOT major medical insurance and is NOT ACA-compliant. It may not cover pre-existing conditions, may have annual or lifetime benefit caps, and does not satisfy ACA essential health benefit requirements. Fixed indemnity insurance is NOT a substitute for major medical insurance; it pays a fixed cash benefit per covered event. These products work best as gap coverage or as a supplement to existing major medical, not as a permanent replacement. Call (954) 998-6720 and I'll tell you honestly whether ACA, STM, indemnity, or a combination makes sense for your situation.

If you're 1099 in Florida, the math is different

No HR department picks your plan. No employer subsidizes the premium. And if you earn enough to be successful but not enough to be rich, you're in the worst spot for unsubsidized ACA pricing — a healthy 40-year-old in Florida can easily see $500–$800/month at full Silver price. For a lot of self-employed Floridians, a short-term medical plan plus a supplemental indemnity layer is dramatically cheaper than full-price ACA, while still giving real catastrophic protection.

πŸ’°

Tax-deductible

Premiums often qualify for the self-employed health insurance deduction on your federal taxes (Schedule 1). Real after-tax cost is usually 22%+ lower than the sticker price.

πŸ“†

Year-round enrollment

Short-term medical isn't locked to Open Enrollment. If you missed the window because life happened, STM can have you covered within days, not months.

🀝

Honest comparison

If ACA actually wins for your situation (chronic condition, 50+, low income), I'll tell you that. The commission is the same to me either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Real answers to what Floridians actually ask about ACA health insurance.

Who qualifies for $0/month health insurance in Florida? β–Ύ
Floridians earning between 100% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) qualify for ACA premium tax credits. In 2026, a single person earning up to $62,600/year may qualify for subsidies. Thanks to enhanced subsidies from the Inflation Reduction Act, many low-to-middle income enrollees pay $0/month for a benchmark Silver plan after credits are applied. Use our quote tool above to see your exact amount.
What is the deadline to enroll, and can I still sign up now? β–Ύ
Open Enrollment for 2026 coverage ran November 1, 2025 – January 15, 2026. However, Special Enrollment Periods (SEP) are available year-round if you have a qualifying life event such as losing job-based coverage, moving to Florida, getting married, having a baby, or a change in income. Many Floridians qualify for an SEP right now without realizing it. Call (954) 998-6720 and I can usually determine in a few minutes whether you're eligible.
Is FL Health Guide really free to use? β–Ύ
Yes, completely free. Insurance carriers pay the broker commission whether you enroll through me, through Healthcare.gov, or directly with the carrier. The plan price is the same. Going through an agent gets you somebody to call when your situation changes or a claim gets denied.
What health insurance carriers are available in Florida for 2026? β–Ύ
Florida has strong marketplace competition in 2026. Available carriers include Florida Blue (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida), Ambetter from Sunshine Health, Molina Healthcare, Oscar Health, Cigna, and others depending on your specific county. South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach) typically has the widest selection. We compare every plan available in your ZIP code.
How does the ACA premium tax credit (subsidy) work in 2026? β–Ύ
ACA premium tax credits directly reduce your monthly insurance premium. The credit is based on your income, household size, and the cost of the benchmark Silver plan in your county. You can apply the credit monthly (reducing what you pay each month) or take it as a lump sum at tax time. Enhanced subsidies from the Inflation Reduction Act remain in effect for 2026, which is why so many Floridians now qualify for $0/month coverage.
What's the difference between Bronze, Silver, Gold plans? β–Ύ
Metal tiers refer to how costs are split between you and the insurer. Bronze: lower premium, higher out-of-pocket when you use care. Silver: middle ground, and often the best value for subsidy-eligible people because Cost Sharing Reductions only apply to Silver plans. Gold: higher premium, lower out-of-pocket costs when you need care. If you qualify for a subsidy, I'll usually start with Silver. The math typically works out best there.

Don't Go Another Month Uninsured or Overpaying

One medical emergency without coverage can cost $30,000+. Some Floridians qualify for $0/month plans after federal subsidies. Eligibility depends on income, household size, and other factors.

  • Compare carriers available in your ZIP code
  • Estimate your subsidy in 60 seconds
  • Enroll the same day if you're eligible
  • Free, no broker fees

⚑ Special Enrollment Period

You may qualify to enroll outside of Open Enrollment only if you've had a qualifying life event in the last 60 days, such as loss of other coverage, a move, marriage, a new baby, or a significant change in income. Call (954) 998-6720 or fill out the form and a licensed agent will confirm whether your situation qualifies.
